This is one of the tunes The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad played at this past weekend’s show at the Hamilton Arts Collective. The audio is taken from my external mics, and you can listen/download the complete audio portion of the show at The Live Music Archive:

Here’s a short trailer for my new short subject documentary, “Post It.” The film focuses on local graphic design duo Post Typography, which is comprised of Bruce Willen and Nolen Strals (also members of the awesome awesome Double Dagger). DVDs will be available before the end of the year…

This might’ve been a much better recording if the amp didn’t give out a constant drone. Still, it’s a very listenable recording of yet another superb performance from Ari Schenck. Not only is his guitar playing excellent, but Ari is one of the best vocalists around. This is just beautiful music!

I’ll be honest, while the plugged in version of Monarch is really good…the unplugged version is flat out excellent. I’m a sucker for the upright bass anyway and Andy puts on a great performance! He also takes over the vocals and guitar for A Lawn to Mow, a very nice tune…I haven’t heard it as arranged for the electric Monarch, so it’ll be interesting. As it will be interesting to hear the electric version of the last tune, Half A Double Man, which is now my fave Monarch song. The recording doesn’t do it justice, the bass is a bit loud in this version, but it is such a beautiful song.
